WHAT IS TOP PHYSIOTHERAPY'S NEW PATIENT PROCEDURE?

We like to keep things simple and convenient for our clients so all you will need to do during your first appointment with us is spend a couple of minutes to sign our new patient consent form. We will then go through a detailed chat to find out a little more about you and what has been going on before doing an objective assessment to look at your strength, muscle legnth, movement patterns as appropriate. We will educate you, provide you clear advice and recommendations to get started on getting you back happy, healthy and active! 

 

What makes TOP Physiotherapy different to other physiotherapy providers?

To us you are more than the site of your pain, you are a unique eco-system and not just a machine with a bit that’s injured!

Your goals, your ideas, your understanding of your injury, your lifestyle and other health factors all contribute to your pain.

At TOP we start with a chat around all these things to help us understand YOU

What to wear?

Lower Limb Issue - Shorts are preferable, we do need to see the joint to allow us to appropriately assess the region. We will endeavour to keep you decent at all times however to ensure we can appropriately assess a region we may need to ask you to take off certain items of clothing (e.g. - Hips)

 

Spinal Issue - Loose fitted clothing is preferred. 

 

Upper Limb Issue - We are likely going to ask you to take your top off for an assessment, however for women a "strappy" top would give us sufficient exposure to assess your shoulder appropriately. 

WHAT IS TOP PHYSIOTHERAPY'S CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to re-arrange or cancel your appointment that is fine, we understand things change. So as long as you give us 24 hours notice ahead of your next appointment, no charge will be issued. If you give less than 24 hours notice you will be asked to cover the cost of the session.  

DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERRAL?

Put Simply - No.

 

Physiotherapists are autonomous practitioners so no referral from any other professional is needed.

 

On a rare occasion some insurance providers may ask for a GP referral but this is by no means the norm and your insurer should tell you if this is what they require.

Where to find us?

Elmlea Drive Site - There is free on street parking at the front of the property. If you struggle with stairs there is disabled access at the rear of the clinic which can be found by turning left at the bottom of our neighbouring street called "The Dells". 

 

Stilebrook Road - Fitness Hub Site - We are situated within the Fitness Hub Gym. If you are driving we have an arrangement with the gym that you are able to park in the staff or disabled parking bays which are immediately at the front of the gym building. No permit is required. When entering the building let the gym receptionist know you are here for physiotherapy. They will ask you to ring our doorbell which is in the gym reception area. Then take a seat and one of us will be out to collect you.

I HAVE FORGOTTEN WHEN MY NEXT APPOINTMENT IS

We understand that you lead a hectic life and the last thing you want is something else to remember. That's why we have an email reminder service. You will receive an email reminder 48 hours before your next appointment, just to give you one less thing to worry about. 

WHICH HEALTH INSURANCE PROVIDERS DO YOU WORK WITH?

We work in partnership with all major private health insurers. Some of the most common insurance providers we work with can be seen below however if your insurance provider is not on this list please contact the clinic. We are happy to contact your insurance provider and enquire about registering with them. Anything to make your life easier!

DO I NEED A PHYSIO SESSION OR A SPORTS MASSAGE SESSION?

Don’t worry this is a question we get asked a lot, and we don’t expect you to know.

 

Book in for either session online or over the phone and at the start of the session when you tell us your story, we will be able to quickly determine which type of session is right for you.

 

Or just give us a call now and we can advise you over the phone.

DO I LIVE CLOSE ENOUGH FOR A HOME VISIT?

If you live within Olney a follow up home visit session is priced at £65.

If you live further afield it would be advised to give us a call (01234 385 611) or email (hello@topphysiotherpy.co.uk) so we can give you a more accurate quote.
